Fisher-Price Pull-Along Telephone – A Classic Toy for Little Ones
Our Fisher-Price Pull-Along Telephone Review
I had a nostalgic moment when I purchased the Fisher-Price Pull Along Telephone for our toddler. I remember the old pull-along phone on a string from when I was a kid and when they brought it back after the release of the Toy Story movie years ago, I have to admit, I wanted one. The newer version of the pull-along phone is different looking from the original in the sense that it’s not a “boxy” in appearance. The new pull-along phone has a more aerodynamic look to it, with rounded corners (probably for safety). The most important features are still there though, the pull string, wiggle eyes, smiley face, rotary dial and wheels.

My toddler loves the phone and obsesses over things with wheels; the pull-along telephone was a good fit for him. We own several pull-along toys because as simple as they may seem, toddlers and children do love them. My son loves how the eyes go up and down, up and down, up and down. Sometimes he just sits on the floor with the phone and pushes it back in forth in place just to watch those cute little eyes.
When you turn the little rotary dial at the top, the phone makes a ringing noise. The ringing sounds like an old rotary phone model, it has that loud ringing noise to it. There are numbers on the rotary dial, so it looks like a real old school phone. The numbers are great for helping children familiarize themselves with numbers too.
The Fisher Price Pull Along Phone is Fun!
Children pull the Fisher Price telephone along by a long red string. The red string measures about 26-inches long. That’s what I got when I measured ours. Even a rather large child could pull this phone along given the long length of the red string attached to the front of this phone. It makes a weird noise when you pull it by the string, weird in the sense that I can’t describe it, I’m not even sure what kind of noise it is to be honest.
My baby likes to play on the telephone, he picks up the receiver and talks and chatters away. The receiver on this phone comes off but is attached by a short little curly wire, similar to an old phone cord, if you still have one of those in your house. I wish this curly cord was a little bit longer, it’s definitely intended for smaller children. I like that the phone receiver stays attached to the toy, but I just wish that curly cord was an inch or two longer (so if you’re reading this Fisher-Price….get on it).
The Fisher-Price Pull-Along Telephone is a Classic Toy!
There are a couple of different pull along telephone toys, Fisher-Price makes the one that I remember, but Vtech has a cooler, bulkier model. The VTech pull along phone toy seems to have more bells an whistles; it’s has buttons – not a rotary dial. Toddlers, preschoolers and kids love playing telephone, it’s a simple, yet fun way to entertain kids.
