Why Do Babies Need a Toothbrush When They Don’t Have Teeth?
We bought our little guy this infant banana toothbrush with handles because we wanted to be able to massage his gums with it. He’s teething a lot, and he’s always trying to find objects to stick in his mouth to help him cut his teeth.
Joshua is almost 4 months old and he’s been “going-to-town” on just about anything he can get near his mouth. I saw this baby banana toothbrush with its handles and thought it would be a good teether toy for him, something a little more refined than his fist 😉
The Banana Toothbrush is Great for Teething and Developing Hand-Eye Coordination
The handles are great because he’s only 4 months old so he doesn’t have the greatest grip yet but he can get his fingers inter-weaved between the banana handles to bring it to his mouth. It’s also got the long body of the banana which is very easy for his little hands to grip.
How About a Nice Gum Massage, Baby?
The end of this banana toothbrush has a gum massager which makes it a nice toy no matter which way Joshua puts it in. It’s got little bumps you can kinda see there on the end.
The Infant Banana Toothbrush Tastes Good Frozen
I like to stick the banana teething toy in the freezer and let it get nice and cold before rubbing it on my baby’s gums. The bottom of it has a bumpy end so it can be rubbed against the area cutting teeth. My little guy really likes to gnaw on it when its cold.

Is the Infant Banana Toothbrush Dishwasher Safe?
Yes! I like it because it’s dishwasher safe, so I can just take the whole thing and throw it in my bottle basket on the top rack and be done. You definitely want to wash it because it’s going to get a lot of goobies on it from the babies mouth and just being around the house.
Where Can I Buy My Own Banana Teething Toy – Since Joshua Ain’t Sharin’
I got mine at Target, but Amazon has them too and IN BULK! I already lost one so its best to get two, not that you’ll lose it too, but when one is washing it’s nice to have another. It makes a great first toothbrush for your little guy even though he doesn’t have any teeth 😛
